Detour Gold Corporation (TSX:DGC) is a Canadian gold exploration and development company with a highly experienced management and technical team whose primary focus is to advance the development of its flagship Detour Lake gold project, located in northeastern Ontario, towards production.

The positive results of the 2010 feasibility study confirmed that the future Detour Lake open pit operation can be a significant gold producer with the added benefits of a long mine life within a stable political environment.  Having received the necessary provincial approvals from the government, the Company is currently proceeding with the construction of the mine facilities.  Gold production is expected to commence in early 2013.

The Detour Lake open pit mine will be among Canada’s largest gold mining operations with a planned production rate of approximately 650,000 ounces annually.  The mine will employ over 1,000 people during construction and approximately 500 people once production begins.
