| Who we are
MMG owns and operates a portfolio of world-class base metal mining operations, development projects and exploration fields.
The group is one of the world’s leading producers of zinc as well as a substantial producer of copper, lead, gold and silver. The group currently has mining operations located in Australia and Asia and a large portfolio of advanced and early stage exploration projects through Australia, Asia and North America.
MMG is looking forward to being a positive contributor to the Australian corporate landscape and to forging a solid reputation with all of its stakeholders.
Operations
MMG has operations located in Australia and Asia, and whilst our sites share certain synergies with regards to career opportunities, they offer incredibly different lifestyles, cultures and work environments within which to grow your career.
Rosebery
Rosebery mine, in beautiful west Tasmania, is an underground zinc mine that has been in continuous operation since 1936. Current exploration aims to achieve a mine life beyond 2020. A residential operation, most staff choose to live at the nearby township of Rosebery, literally two minutes from the site.
Golden Grove
Golden Grove mine, in Western Australia, is a zinc/copper operation offering a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) roster from either Geraldton or Perth. Ongoing development of the site’s camp offers many and varied leisure activities, whilst significant mine development and exploration are realising its long term potential.
Sepon
At the Sepon Gold and Sepon Copper mines in south east Laos, they offer the opportunity to join a highly successful operation, whilst developing the skills of Lao nationals. This richly cultural environment has been described as much a life experience as a career. With a FIFO roster and its proximity to Bangkok, a career at Sepon mine also offers convenient opportunities to explore Asia and beyond.
Century
Century mine, in north-west Queensland, is Australia's largest zinc mine based on concentrate production. The Century operation comprises of two sites - the mine at Lawn Hill, and associated concentrate dewatering and ship-loading facilities at Karumba, on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Century Mine operates a FIFO roster with connecting flights from Townsville, and provides a well equipped camp with a variety of recreation facilities including a swimming pool, recreation room, oval and gym.
Group Office
MMG’s group office is located in Melbourne. It is from here that we support our sites in operation, project and exploration modes. If you are interested in a career in the booming resources industry, but not looking to be based at a mine site, we may have an exciting and rewarding career for you at Group Office.
Exploration
Building a reserves replacement portfolio beyond the life of our operating mines is a major business imperative, and one managed by our Exploration and Project teams. These teams are currently building this resource inventory in Australia, Canada, China, Laos, Indonesia, Thailand and Tunisia.
For MMG, exploration is the frontier of our business, meaning a significant focus and investment is placed on and into this critical division. We also understand that whilst exploration is intrinsically linked to operations, it needs to work on different principles to be successful. Our exploration teams are given the freedom, resources and time to utilise the skills they were recruited for.
We are particularly interested in hearing from geologists with experience in hard rock metalliferous exploration to join our team at MMG.
