New Gold Inc. is an intermediate gold producer with cash flow positive operating assets in the United States, Mexico and Australia and development projects in Canada and Chile. The company continues to pursue a disciplined growth strategy, having completed a 3-way business combination with Metallica Resources and Peak Gold in June 2008 and a business combination with Western Goldfields in June 2009.

New Gold’s three operating properties are the Mesquite Mine open pit, heap leach operation in California, the underground copper/gold Peak Mines in Australia and the Cerro San Pedro heap leach mine in Mexico. New Gold also has two development projects: New Afton, an exciting copper-gold project currently under construction in Western Canada, which is expected to commence production in 2012; and El Morro, a joint project with owner-operator Xstrata, in which New Gold has 30% interest. El Morro entered the permitting stage in November 2008, with delivery of the project's Environmental Impact Statement to the Chilean Authorities. Permitting is expected to take from 12 to 18 months, after which development activities could proceed.

The company enjoys a diversified production base in mining-friendly jurisdictions with forecasted gold production of approximately 270,000 to 300,000.
