As an employee of Intrepid, there are several benefits available to take care of you and your family. The summary below outlines our coverages for plan year June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008.
Intrepid offers a choice of Group Medical coverage designed for flexibility to meet you needs. Employees who elect to participate in a health risk assessment, biometric screening, and smoking cessation program are eligible to receive a discount on their monthly premium. Also included with the medical plan is a Dental/Vision plan that is part of the total monthly cost to you. To assist employees with navigating the complex healthcare system, we have also put in place Health Advocate as a hotline to work through issues with healthcare professionals and insurance companies. Intrepid recognizes the impact of medical costs to every individual and has maintained the lowest deductibles, coinsurance, and co-pays available.
Life Insurance/Short & Long Term Disability/Accidental Death & Dismemberment
On your behalf, and at no cost to you, Intrepid has provided a Life Insurance benefit
equal to two times your annual salary, to a maximum of $31,000. Additionally, we have provided an Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy at the same limit as the Life Insurance benefit. An added benefit of $4,000 for spouse and children coverage is provided at no cost.
Optional Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment polices for yourself, your spouse, and your children are available at affordable rates through payroll deduction
At no cost to you, Intrepid has provided a weekly short-term disability benefit should you be unable to work for a limited period of time. You will receive 70% of your base earnings, up to $2,000 per week, for up to a period of 26 weeks.
Eligible employees may elect to purchase additional long-term disability benefits that provide 60% of your base earnings once Short Term Disability benefits have been exhausted.
401(k)
Intrepid has established a 401(k) Plan known as the Intrepid Companies Employees' Savings Plan, that is designed to aid you in planning for your retirement. Once you have satisfied your eligibility date, you are 100% vested as of your entry date into the Plan. As an added benefit, we accept rollover contributions from other tax-deferred eligible plans. Intrepid matches a percentage of the employee's contributions.
Flexible Spending Account
The Intrepid Potash Cafeteria Plan (Flexible Spending Account) has been designed so that all insurance premiums paid through payroll deduction are a tax-free benefit to the employee. Additionally, employees may elect to set aside dollars to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses (such as co-pays and deductibles) up to a maximum of $3,000 and for dependent care expenses up to a maximum of $5,000.
Cancer / Critical Illness
For added protection, there is a cancer and critical illness policy that may be purchased through AIG. The insurance premiums may be deducted through payroll and are eligible as a pre-tax item. Please see your Human Resource Representative for more information.
Paid Time Off
Paid time off includes vacation, holidays and personal time. For more information concerning your paid time off, please contact your Human Resources Representative.
Employee Assistance Program
Intrepid recognizes that employees need to balance their personal and professional life. Marketplace Ministries chaplains will come along side to help with your particular need. This non-intrusive program is designed so that you can contact a chaplain knowing your issue is kept in the strictest of confidence. Additional information is available through your Human Resource Representative.
