For our Financial Shared Services Division, we are actively seeking for 1 July 2018 for a 13-month duration

Accounting Graduate


By performing entry staff level accounting functions, the Accounting graduate will:
  • Apply and develop his/ her accounting knowledge and skills in a complex accounting environment
  • Gain an understanding of [Company]'s business and accounting practices, systems and procedures


Depending on the learning curve on the job, the Accounting Graduate will perform during his/ her mission some or all of the following duties:

Ø Book accounting entries that will provide understanding of various accounting concepts such as Netting, Departmental Expenses, etc

Ø Perform various accounts reconciliations, which will provide practical understanding of Intracompany and Intercompany transactions, as well as Accruals and Prepayments principles.

Ø Performing reconciliations relative to Treasury activities (banks, etc...), which will provide an example of how a Treasury System (Sungard) works.

Ø Analyze and explain to Corporate Accounting the discrepancies in Interco Payable vs Interco Receivable accounts, between various entities. This will require working with several contacts in Sales Accounting and General Accounting groups.

Ø Analyze the foreign exchange impact on monthly results.

Ø Reception and processing of freight and forwarding invoices plus relative monthly reconciliations. It will give the opportunities to have contact with [Company] dealers.

As the Accountant Graduate will gain business experience, he/she may undertake more technical and/ or more complex accounting tasks, and have the opportunity to expand his/ her decision-making possibilities.

He/she may for example:

Ø P articipate in the explanation of deviations in P&L and Balance Sheet, from one month to another.

Ø Potentially manage a small Cat entity, booking entries, preparing results reviews and performing the monthly financial closing.

Ø Participate to projects aimed at improving some of the current accounting processes.

  • Excellent knowledge and command of Excel.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Very good organization and analytical skills.
  • Initiative, leadership and ability to communicate effectively

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: A university background in finance or accounting related discipline is required.
