What you will get to do:

Lead business unit for maximization of profitability, achievement of operating plan targets and growth

Proactively manage safety and health initiatives to continuously improve performance and promote the highest level of safety in the aggregates business

Continuously drive improvement of operational processes to achieve cost leadership and optimized product quality

Develop & execute a strategic plan which is aligned with the other product lines for growth in the market

Identify & acquire aggregate deposits to maintain inventory of reserves according to strategic plan targets

Provide direction and leadership to the sales, production, maintenance, and quality control functions

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers; recognize and proactively manage changes in customer and market needs

Manage & develop the human resources of the business; actively participate in labour relations

Ensure compliance with environmental standards and government regulations related to permitting and reclamation

Identify capital projects, oversee the development of AFEs and management of approved projects

Effectively participate in cross-business teams and other initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the overall Canada Region goals

Maintain liaison with local community, industry organizations & regulatory bodies to stay abreast with such groups who impact upon the business

Close cooperation with CCM and other corporate support functions

Ensure compliance requirements are met including implementation of Group guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance.

Who we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field

Minimum of ten years progressively responsible business experience, including three to five years’ experience in a management position

Strong experience in Safety Excellence, preferably in MSHA environment

Extensive knowledge in mining and processing of aggregates

Extensive knowledge in customer management, market conditions and issues around the development and maintenance of reserves

Performance and result driven; strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
