Position Summary:

  • The Associate will work closely with our legal, financial and technical professionals to support all aspects of Asset Development and Asset Management execution of infrastructure project finance and P3 projects across North America.  We are looking for people who want to work on major infrastructure projects and ultimately support [Company] efforts to secure construction work and make smart investments.

Responsibilities

  • General research on industry and project opportunities
  • Manage multiple work streams for various project pursuits including management of external consultants, including technical, financial, commercial etc.
  • Support various [Company] teams and management
  • Represent [Company] at industry events, and information sessions
  • Review and present technical and financial inputs to / outputs from financial models for bid pursuits
  • Support development of Requests for Information (RFI) and Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) responses
  • Support development of Request for Qualification (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses
  • Support preparation of internal documents including investment approvals (Equity Papers / Investment Committee material), project briefs, etc.
  • Review, under guidance, detailed financing and legal agreements

  • Extended works hours and extensive travel is often required
  • Ability to travel freely between Canada and the U.S.
  • Understanding of general accounting and taxation principles a plus, but not mandatory
  • Understanding of project finance theory and understanding of financial modeling a plus, but not mandatory
  • Understanding of technical aspects of design-build, operations and maintenance, and lifecycle components of infrastructure projects considered beneficial, but not mandatory
  • Experience with P3 projects considered beneficial but not critical if similar skills and experience have been developed from other sectors including real estate, power, oil/gas
  • Ability to review and interpret complex legal and financial agreements and summarize key issues (P3 project agreements, purchase & sale agreements, term sheets, lease agreements, etc.)

Educational Background

  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or math or a general arts /science degree combined with post-graduate degree in business or equivalent applied experience in the P3 industry
  • CPA, CFA, CMA, P.Eng, PE, PMP or similar professional designation beneficial, but not required
