Relevant Experience:

We have a requirement for an experienced Mechancial Contractor Co-ordinator with construction industry experience at a supervisor or more senior management level.


Success in the role will require:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Cert IV Front Line Management (preferable)
  • Experience in similar supervisory field or position
  • Related industry experience
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook are essential


Full Job Description:

The Contractor Co-ordinator is primarily accountable for the following:

  • Co-ordinating relevant work packages
  • Administration of contracts including conducting weekly progress meetings with contractors and/or contracted service providers, managing scope changes within approved contract variations
  • Inspections of works undertaken by contractors is performed according to approved plans, drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules and EH&S standards
  • Inspect and reports on installations and alterations of work to assure that approved materials are used and the quality of workmanship
  • Directs and verifies corrections on items that are not in compliance
  • Observes and validates tests of installations, equipment, and materials and completion of ITP for each work package
  • Co-ordinates the worksite acess between contractor(s) and operations, inclusive of isolation and other permitting requirements
  • Co-ordination of and reporting on all aspects of assigned projects / services, including co-ordination between contractors
  • Monitors the application of labour, materials and equipment
  • Planning, scheduling and co-ordination of shutdowns, tie-ins and commissioning and associated interfaces between contractors and operations
  • Previous experience working within an alumina refinery would be well regarded
