Driver-Tractor Trailer

Position Summary:

Ensure safe, secure, and efficient storage and delivery of explosive and non-explosive products in compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. Manage inventory transactions related to receipt and distribution of products ensuring accuracy of inventory records. Provide personal interface with internal and external customers and suppliers focusing on delivery performance and service.

Reports to Materials Control Supervisor.

Essential Functions:
  1. Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
  2. Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
  3. Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values
  4. Perform specific duties in order to support site operation and customer deliveries
  5. Complete SAP transactions for distribution functions, receipt, and inventory functions
  6. Proper handling of hazardous materials in accordance with regulations related to transportation and storage
  7. Adhere to policies, practices and procedures that align with [Company]'s critical success factors
  8. On Site Manufacturing Support, customer support for Northeast Distribution
  9. Receipt of materials/schedule repairs
  10. Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections
  11. Back up and/or assists other drivers
  12. Maintain accurate Inventory Control
  13. Cleanliness and orderliness of docks and warehouses (5S)
  14. Compliance with DOT, BATFE, MSHA and internal HSE management systems

Decision Making Authority:
  1. Prioritizing job duties to meet schedule demands
  2. Responsible for security and accountability of explosive and non-explosive materials in storage through delivery to external customers
  3. Operating within prescribed budget

Requirements:

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Two years of experience driving tractor trailer trucks

Technical
  • Ability to operate tractor trailer, van truck, forklift, and battery pallet truck
  • Maintain excellent driving record
  • Class A CDL driver's license with hazmat endorsement
  • Ability to obtain a Possessor of Explosives certification
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
