Essential Duties/Responsibilities include:

Direct Supervisors and other E&I staff activities in the daily operation and maintenance of coal processing facilities and electric walking dragline and components.

Inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality work.

Coordinate work with other site departments in planning electrical related repairs limiting down time. Participate in scheduling department activities during scheduled down days.

Work closely with the Engineering Department to provide departmental assistance in the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities as required.

Responsible for the electrical and instrumentation departmental goal and budgets, establishing strategies and policies, assigning responsibilities, measuring progress and reporting results.

Work with employees to correct deficiencies. In addition to performing safety audits and preparing SOP’s, also conduct work place inspections to identify conditions or practices that have potential for loss and correct substandard conditions and practices to minimize employee accidents, property and environmental damage.

Responsible for the professional development and training of employees in electrical process controls including responsibilities related to safety and environmental compliance.

Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies.

Monitor codes and specifications, installation methods.

Ensure a well-functioning Preventative Maintenance program of the electrical and control systems that drives improving reliability based on the critically of the equipment.

Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including general contractors, management, other trade supervision, crew members, etc.

Plan and communicate with the warehouse, purchasing, and supervisor to assure that an adequate supply of tools, materials, and equipment are available.

Manage electrical inspections per MSHA regulations.

Experience/Qualifications include:

High School Diploma or GED required. Electrician certification and/or Associates Degree in electrical or technical engineering preferred.

Approximately eight to ten years of experience working as an Electrical Foreman or in a similar role in electrical construction, design and cost management for commercial or industrial projects.

Understanding of distributive control, programmable logic controllers, visual interfaces and instrumentation controls and devices in both process and mine operations.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, such as variable frequency drives, protective relays, medium voltage drives, wound rotor motors and synchronous motors, high current rectifiers, transformers and switchgear, and power distribution systems.

Working knowledge of principles of electrical planning, scheduling, and coordination.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs.

Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Working knowledge of electric powered dragline (BE 1300-W), flywheel, and dragline cable maintenance experience a plus.
