YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
As the Lead Hand - Electrical Maintenance you will be the "go to" person for all electrical work in Upgrading and Utilities (U2) at our Horizon Oil Sands operation. You will assist with the execution of the U2 maintenance strategy along with the associated Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)

This position is based at our Horizon Oil Sands site in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary, Edmonton or Fort McMurray

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Act as a key source of information and provide guidance to the team of shift technicians and contractors
• Ensure equipment reliability and efficiency to reduce process downtime
• Provide programming and troubleshooting for all Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interface systems, and Protective Relay Systems in the U2 operations
• Oversee the repair, replacement and maintenance of all Variable Frequency Drives for U2
• Provide expertise in the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical motors, motor starters and MCCs
• Work within a team supported environment with operations, maintenance and planning
• Write procedures and processes to support the maintenance strategy and safety plan
• Involved in administering the isolation and lock out/tag out processes for 4160V and under
• Ensure daily activities are performed in a safe manner as per codes, regulations, standards and best practices
• Mentor junior members of E&I maintenance team

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically 5+ years of demonstrated industry experience working with electrical systems in a heavy oil and/or oil sands environment
• Alberta Journeyman Electrician or Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist is required
• Proof and maintenance of a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License, or equivalent, is required
• Expertise in:
o Programming and troubleshooting a wide variety of Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interface, Protective Relay systems and other industrial electrical equipment in heavy industry
o Large and small horse power Variable Frequency Drives
o Computerized maintenance management systems such as Maximo
o Instrumentation is an asset
o Low, medium and high voltage in an industrial environment would be considered an asset
