Job Overview

Exciting opportunities exists for exceptional, technically minded Electrical/Mechanical Service Engineers to join our global organization. Reporting to the Hardrock Service Manager under the sales and service organization, you will be responsible for ensuring optimum performance for organization's mining system in terms of safety, reliability and productivity.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Provide customers with pro-active advice and support, increasing equipment performance and productivity.
  • Facilitate Flawless Start-up plans in line with global policy.
  • Develop and standardise equipment and system commissioning plans.
  • Provide advanced technical support for equipment in the field.
  • Coordinate new product field trials and document results including any opportunities for product enhancement.
  • Collate field data and evidence for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major failures and unresolved reliability issues.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to offer solutions for customer needs.
  • Providing technical support and feedback to the Hardrock development/design team.
  • Training and assessment of mine personnel in the operation and maintenance methods consistent with expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education / Qualification

  • Mechanical or Electrical Journeyperson Trade Ticket or Engineering qualification in relevant discipline.
  • 2-10 years' experience in mining manufacturing and engineering or in a similar heavy engineering environment with an emphasis on field applications.
  • Exposure to mining systems and applications.
  • Experience in new product introduction for mining systems or heavy mobile machinery.
  • Working knowledge of mining system planning and operation at a mine site.
  • Intimate knowledge of field engineering problem identification and resolution processes within various aspects of the KMC business.
  • Knowledge of appropriate Region Standards, Mines Department regulations and Hazardous Area Standards.
  • Relevant safety certificates to work underground in the region will be advantageous.
  • Willing to travel on new product introduction projects - Global.
  • Demonstrated customer focused and results-oriented experience.
  • Must be a self-starter, eager and willing to learn.
