[Company] is seeking a qualified Electricians for its Cupertino, CA cement operation. 

The Electrician will perform a variety of journey level skilled electrical work in the maintenance, installation, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and systems found in mining, portland cement manufacturing, aggregates processing and related administrative facilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

Install, repair and service all types of electrical equipment as follows:
  • Transformers (with voltage levels at 60KV, 4160V, 2400V, 480V, 230V and 120V
  • Medium voltage overhead power lines, circuit breakers, oil filled and break types
  • Motor starters, low, medium and high voltage types
  • Motor control centers and component devices
  • Electric motors, AC and DC types
  • DC motor controls and SCR's
  • Electric power shovels and power cables
  • Plant general power and lighting distribution systems
  • Electrical conduits and cables
  • Lubrication of all electric motors and electrical equipment in accordance with the normal schedules
  • Fills in for the BCO on the crate at various times
  • Cleanup (housekeeping)
  • Assists the electricians on shift when required to do so
  • Required to work on weekends and holidays, at times work overtime when required, respond to call outs and rotate shifts if required
  • Other job related responsibilities as required by supervision
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A four year apprenticeship in electrical maintenance or equivalent
  • Read electrical blueprints and schematics and troubleshoot all types of electrical apparatus
  • Personal hand tools furnished by employee
    • Grease gun, oil cans, hand tools, flashlight, gloves, ladders
  • Follow all company safety rules and recognize safety hazards in electrical work
  • Must wear Safety Equipment furnished by the employer
  • Must report all injuries without exception
  • Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs where required, and must observe "No Smoking Areas"

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES and WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work in heat, rain, wind, climbing stairs and ladders, medium lifting, uneven walking surfaces, ability to drive motor vehicle, work in high above ground places, climbing poles that are equipped with steps
  • Perform other job related duties as requested by supervision
  • Lift weights
  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, sometimes wet surfaces and some areas where lighting is limited
