[Company] are delighted to be working with a key client in the search for a Reliability Engineer - ERU & Plant Services for their TEMCO operation. The Reliability Engineer Mechanical is responsible for extending the life of plant and equipment by providing engineering advice, service and support to the production and maintenance work groups. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and providing engineering solutions for process improvement as well as capital projects and plant repairs and maintenance.

What the Role Entails

The ERU & Services Engineer shall be responsible for:

  • Providing Engineering support for ERU (Energy Recovery Unit Power Generation Plant) to maximise the efficiency and output in a safe and cost effective manner to deliver (11MW) producing (approx.) 82GW Hrs/Annum.
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance and operation team associated with the ERU.
  • Continually improve the equipment strategies.
  • Review unscheduled maintenance / repair records and follow up any actions or recommendations.
  • Manage all work, program and costs associated with each ERU annual shutdown.
  • Manage statutory inspections of the ERU.
  • Review and manage correct water management and chemical dosing for the ERU boiler.
  • Provide technical service to the Maintenance and Production Departments within the plant services areas.
  • Manage statutory inspections across plant services supply and reticulation compressed air, water supply, Natural Gas and industrial gases, e.g. LPG, Oxygen, Nitrogen.
  • Reliability engineering support for the ERU and Plant services.
  • Facilitate business improvement opportunities.
  • Assist the maintenance manager in preparing 2 year maintenance budgets for the ERU and plant services equipment.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years experience in operation and maintenance of thermal power plant. Babcock Boiler and Siemens Turbine experience (preferable).
  • Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline (mandatory).
  • Personnel development skills.
  • Australian Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Experience in optimising power plant control systems.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management System (SAP Preferable.)
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering including condition monitoring and failure analysis.
  • Computer literacy with a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Current Boiler and Turbine Operator Certificate (preferable).
  • Mechanical engineering experience in heavy industry, smelting or refinery environment.
  • Well practiced understanding of the key elements of governance, standards and change control in the Engineering function.
  • Project management experience in the delivery of small to medium projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a flexible team environment;
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate and interact with a wide variety of people and build credibility.
