As our next Geotech reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.


Mt Owen Mine is located 25 km's north-west of Singleton in the picturesque Hunter Valley.

The Role

The primary functions of this role will see you reporting to the Manager, Tech Services, the role will suit an Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer who likes the challenge of working in one of Australia’s deepest and structurally complex open pit coal operations. You will have a keen interest in pit and spoil slope stability in structurally complex conditions and have experience in monitoring of pit walls and Geotech analysis. You will be require to interact with mine planners and production personnel and provide geotechnical advice in the day to day safe operation of the open pit. This is a role that you should find challenging and rewarding.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role you are required to have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering geology / geotechnical engineering
  • Two years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong computer skills including an advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office package
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships quickly, and use influence positively
  • Effective problem solving skills
