As an Engineering Specialist you are responsible for reducing design and manufacturing costs of large mining equipment using low cost producer concepts, which includes using cost tools, participation in design reviews, prototype & pilot builds and provide guidance to engineers to reduce costs. Provide support for projects that are highly demanding such as Manufacturability, Ergonomics, Throughput and Serviceability. Providing training and consulting on application of virtual tools to manufacturing and throughput problems will be part of job activities. Will be a member of the LCP (Low Cost Producer) and Parts Engineered Value Chain team and will consult with other NPI tech leads, design engineering, process engineering, tool design, production engineering and supply chain groups within the division and other COE's, and CPSD to drive results
Requires an MS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with an academic focus on Lean Manufacturing principles or Design for Manufacturing, and (ii) 2 years work experience in the structural design and cost reduction of heavy construction or mining equipment.

In lieu of above, would accept :

Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, and (ii) 6 years work experience in structural design and cost reduction of heavy construction or mining equipment.

Of experience required, must have 2 years (concurrent) Lean Manufacturing experience.
