Oaky Creek Coal is seeking an experience Environment & Community Advisor. Reporting through to the Environment & Community Manager, you will provide leadership to drive excellence in environmental and community engagement performance as well as provide technical advice and operational support.

As a member of the Environment & Community team you will gain substantial knowledge and experience in a broad range of operational and project related activities across the site, which includes the closed Oaky No.1 Underground Mine, the Oaky North Underground Mine, and the Surface Operations comprised of the Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (CHPP) area, and an extensive open cut mining area currently under care and maintenance.

This role requires you to develop strong working relationships with operations personnel as well as with external subject matter experts, mine planning designers, traditional owners, local pastoral and other stakeholders. You will have experience and a working knowledge of Queensland mine site activities especially in regard to planning and implementation of land disturbance and rehabilitation landform design to meet closure objectives. You will be a systems thinker, goal orientated and highly organised, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

As well as this, you will have a keen interest in the development of our local town, Tieri. You will strive to positively engage, communicate and consult with key stakeholders on the Oaky Creek Coal's initiatives to progress responsible mining.

The successful candidate should possess tertiary qualification/s in environmental science/engineering, and/or social science/community development/local business management expertise. This role requires strong interpersonal skills for engaging with operations personnel and local community. Applicants with experience in GIS, indigenous relations, social enterprise and/or community development programs will be highly regarded.
