Immediate opportunity available for a full-time, highly motivated, self-directed Field Service Welder.

LeTourneau Technologies is in business to sell and service LeTourneau Log Stackers and provide exceptional product support to the forestry industry. Owned by [Company] Mining Corporation we operate out of Troutdale, Oregon and have full service branches in Idaho, Washington and British Columbia.


Facilitate welding projects and repairs on LeTourneau Log Stackers in Oregon, Washington and Northern California.


Planning, organizing and facilitating jobs as assigned to the welding department including print reading and interpretation. Audit equipment for potential repairs. Trouble shoot jobs and equipment needed to complete jobs. Create and facilitate projects to completion including any related paperwork or service reports. Communicate plans and projects effectively to other employees, training them if necessary. Safely use rigging and lifting equipment. Maintains the highest standards in regard to quality of workmanship.


  • Knowledgeable in various areas, including gearing, bearings, seals, bushings, and rollers.
  • Must be proficient in layout, fit-up and fabrication.
  • Possess and maintain certifications in 8000Ni2, II70, Stick and Hardwire preferred.
  • Understand and utilize tools for set up and layout work.
  • Be proficient with hand and automatic torches, MIG, TIG, Automatic welding, and rotators.
  • Proficient in bore build-up and line boring, structural repair, and crack repair.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to perform light machining, utilizing drills, taps, etc.
  • Be proficient in welding and cutting of all types.
  • Possess a proficient understanding of metallurgy and its application to welding.
  • Possess appropriate tools per the trade.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional technical schooling and/or on the job training, preferred

  • Four (4) or more years' experience in the trade
  • Welding work experience heavy machinery
  • Must have or must be able to obtain a Class B CDL.
  • Must be experienced or be able to learn to accurately complete DOT log books and maintaining compliance with DOT hours of service.

  • Primarily outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels
  • Frequent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions and rough and uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to substances, including/not limited to: industrial chemicals, grease, oil, dust, dirt and other elements in the outdoor work environment
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and performing overhead work
  • Frequent use of ladders and steps for accessing equipment.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulating tools/objects, writing, etc.
  • Exposure to dangerous environments, including mill sites and construction sites required.
  • Sitting in and potentially driving a vehicle for long periods.
  • Overtime, varying schedules, and requires travel and frequent overnight stays
