Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a full-time, entry-level Geologist to join the Geoscience team in our Redmond, WA office. Our team of 19 geologists and geophysicists support infrastructure and land development projects, geohazard identification and mapping and geophysical investigations in Puget Sound and throughout North America. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated education or field experience in geomorphology, geohazards, and Puget Sound geology. The selected candidate must be comfortable with the use of technology in the practice of geology and be comfortable working in project teams to support geologic and geotechnical investigation programs throughout the Pacific Northwest, US, and Canada. The selected candidate may have the opportunity to work in project locations throughout North America and should be interested in occasional travel for field assignments.

Your primary responsibilitieswill include:
  • Performgeologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards
  • Performsubsurface field geologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pitexplorations
  • Interpretationof subsurface conditions and preparation of exploration records
  • Installmonitoring wells for groundwater sampling and water level readings
  • Installand collect data from slope monitoring instrumentation
  • Performdata compilation and report writing and other related duties to support projectteams
  • Officework will include GIS data analysis and management, geologic research andproject proposal writing

The preferredcandidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Mustpossess a minimum of MS in Geology, Engineering Geology, or GeologicalEngineering
  • Priorgeology work experience not required but preferred
  • Demonstratecompetence in understanding geomorphology and surface processes
  • Demonstratedexperience and proficiency using GIS to identify geologic hazards using remotesensing data (Lidar and aerial imagery)
  • Candidatesmust be willing to work in the field conducting physically rigorous fieldgeologic data collection in a variety of terrain and weather conditions
  • Mustbe able to lift up to 50 lbs.
