Geology Superintendent - Hidden Valley
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Geology Superintendent to manage the geological resource estimation activities for our operations at Hidden Valley as well as provide mentoring and guidance to a team of technical staff. In this key leadership role you will be the 2IC to the Geology Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Management of resource / reserve modelling and calculations
  • JORC Competency
  • Implementation and management of effective sampling, mapping and grade control procedures
  • Working with mine design and mine production engineers to optimise ore recovery
  • Due diligence, technical reviews and audits, geological risk management
  • Planning, supervision and implementation of resource drilling programs in accordance with company safety and environmental policies and statutory requirements.
  • Implement safety procedures and systems
  • Actively promote OH&S and ensure that all section employees understand the company safety and environment policies and that they are aware of their responsibilities under Duty of Care
  • Monitor drilling contractor compliance and performance (and any other contractors)
  • Improve skills base of the Geology team by mentoring and training in areas of data integration, resource evaluation and operations management
  • Technical reporting of results including internal weekly and monthly reports

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor of Geology or a related tertiary qualification with a minimum of ten years of experience in hard rock open cut metalliferous mining environments.  Significant experience in resource geology, geostatistics and conditional simulation will be viewed favourably. You will have visible leadership skill with a flair for training and sharp business acumen. Communication and cultural awareness is key, so strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must as well as an appreciation for PNG culture.
