Job Summary

[Company]'s Calgary office is currently seeking a full time junior GIS Technologist to join our team of young and dynamic professionals within our Environment Business Line.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides day-to-day support for the Environment business line, a team which provides services in remediation and reclamation, air quality and noise assessment, permitting and impact assessment, and geotechnical engineering
  • Prepares figures in support of technical reports and permitting applications
  • Assists with coordinating transformations, spatial analysis and geostatistical support
  • Maintains GPS units
  • Ability to work on numerous projects at the same time and to quickly shift priorities from one project to another
  • Makes an effort to keep up-to-date with changing technologies and procedures for GIS Professionals both within and outside of [Company]
  • Potential for light occasional field work
  • Works with the Environment team on a wide variety of major infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy opportunities
  • Interacts with and supports other business lines (Water, Transportation, etc.) and offices across Canada

Minimum Requirements
  • Tertiary Certificate/Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience
  • ArcGIS Desktop
  • Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Additional experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Model Builder or Python
  • Additional experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D would be considered an asset
