SUMMARY

DMC is currently looking for HR Generalist, to join our team, based in the Vaughan office. The HR Generalist will work closely with the operations team and will be involved with the HR component of the proposal and bidding process. This will include building on and creating HR proposal and bid templates that address proposal/ bid requirements as it relates to local employment law, recruitment, employee relations, etc. The person in this role will have experience working in a civil construction, mining or heavy industrial environment where project work is prevalent and will have an excellent knowledge of the project cycle. Upon award of a project, the HR Generalist will begin to execute the plan as per proposed documents. The HR Generalist will also have a significant role in the Global Mobility process.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Listed examples include but not limited to:

1. Act as the main point of contact and subject matter expert on global mobility,

2. Provide internal project managers with relevant HR information including policies and processes to be included in bid proposals;

3. Research the minimum requirements related to benefits package, wages, hours of work and other labour related information specific to the country DMC is looking to conduct business;

4. Implement and execute the various components required once the contract is awarded;

5. Support and work alongside the project team during the initiate start-up of the project;

6. Advise (future) employees with their relocation from one country to another and providing a smooth process, as per company’s mobility policy;

7. Advise (future) employees with their immigration process such as visa applications, work permits, and other immigration procedures;

8. Support our employee global mobility program and work with legal counsel on all employee immigration matter;

9. Support HR and Operational Managers in managing the assignment and relocation journey for potential employees;

10. Implement best practices aligned with corporate initiatives;

11. Other responsibilities and ad-hoc duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Human Resources Management required or equivalent experience

• Minimum 5+years’ experience in Human Resources in a generalist capacity, with focus on projects, , immigration and global mobility, and employment laws/regulations and benefits administration

• Proficient working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

• Prior experience in Global Mobility and immigration processing is required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

• Experience setting up HR framework upon project start-up in a global setting

• Detailed-oriented individual with excellent research skills and knows where to obtain information

• Experience working in a large mining or consulting company in a similar capacity is an asset
