As the Inspector of Mines, Mechanical, you inspect mechanical equipment at mines to ensure uniformity of standards and compliance with statutory requirements and confirm all mechanical equipment at mines is operated and maintained in accordance with these requirements. An effective interpersonal communicator with a collaborative approach, you are able to successfully liaise with proponents, consultants, inspectors, First Nations and the public to work successfully with industry, union, management, OHSC, workers and government personnel in a compliance oriented environment.
The Inspector of Mines functions as the specialist for issues related to statutory decisions on Mines Act permits and represents the Ministry at events related to issues, concerns and changes in mining practice. This role requires an analytical problem solver and negotiator, able to make sound independent decisions and provide professional inspection reports and correspondence.
