Description

  • [Company] . has a great internship opportunity for an Engineering college student (Mechanical preferred) in Junior or Senior standing in their Engineering program. This intern will be immersed in an intense, highly structured learning environment where the candidate can assimilate to the [Company] culture and make an important contribution during a targeted 12 week internship. Please note this internship will have minimal design engineering responsibilities. This internship is intended to identify future high potential [Company] employees.
  • Learning: Master [Company] culture and business model as demonstrated by completing and presenting a professional proposal for improvement.
  • Complete a Marketing Engineering Rotation to include:
  • Process simple Technical Information Requests (TIR’s) and Sales Engineering Support Team (SEST) requests
  • Assist with the design and release of custom packages for specialty applications which may include; CAD design and drafting (Creo), document installation instructions of custom package through Parts and Service News
  • Assist with the creation of marketing materials (spec sheet, marketing newsletter, webinar content)
  • 3Market research of competitor offerings
  • Complete a Product and Marketing Rotation to include:
  • Competitive analysis for specific products
  • Conduct customer and Distributor visits w/ Product Manager and issue trip report
  • Support the development of promotional material for new models (spec sheet, bulletins, mktg news)
  • Support competitive testing (if applicable)
  • Conduct competitive price analysis and research for either new products, or specific options. Utilize SWOT analysis.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be at least in Junior standing in the Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited college/university. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.
  • Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines and work and thrive in a fast paced environment, ability to handle pressure. Strong motivation to make contributions to [Company] and strong motivation to drive results. This intern must have an interest in capital goods / heavy equipment in the construction and mining industry.
  • PC Skills: CAD experience, preferably ProE/Creo. High proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Pivot Tables, Vlook ups and other reporting tools. Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. Proven/ completed software development projects a plus.
  • Travel: This travel may require some travel.
