Maintenance Manager

This major mining company with four international operating mines, and two significant development projects requires a new leader for their modern underground mine in Turkey.

Reporting to the Managing Director of this modern underground 1.1 TPY, wholly owned subsidiary, the Maintenance Manager will have overall responsibility for all mobile and stationary equipment. The maintenance function takes a preventative approach, working with established systems and strategies to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained in optimal working order and to drive efficiency improvements within the function.

With a focus on respecting the personal and cultural differences in the countries workforce, a key focus for the Maintenance Manager will be the development and mentoring of maintenance employees to ensure solid training in the principles of basic mechanical knowledge and supervisory skills. Safety is also a top priority and the Maintenance Manger will ensure engaged employees have clearly defined safety objectives, policies and procedures and will promote a proactive culture that values safety.

A minimum of 10 years work experience in a maintenance management capacity with a strong understanding of underground operations, hoisting equipment, and mill facilities will be required for success.  In addition, high ethical standards, demonstrating accountability, integrity and transparency in actions at all times will be required.  The successful candidates management style will be that of a hands-on, motivated leader with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively engage, lead and develop employees. 

Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with the position and industry norms and will include a generous base salary along with a full expatriate package including accommodations and vehicle.
