Intermediate Mining Engineer

Our client, a junior international mining company, is looking for an Intermediate Mining Engineer for their Mexico based operation currently under development/construction.

 

Responsibility Summary:

 

The Intermediate Mining Engineer will be involved in all engineering activities related to the safe and efficient extraction of the ore from this hard rock underground operation. The person in this position will be responsible for providing a wide range of technical support for all mining related activities on the site; this would include mining and reclamation plans, production budget and cost analyses. They would assist the Mine Manager in the mining area and contribute to the promotion of a positive team atmosphere at the operation. This would include working with the Field Services Supervisor and Mine Contractors to develop and implement mine plans.  

 

The Ideal candidate will have:  

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.  
  • Minimum of 5 years in a mine design/planning role; proficiency with computerized mine planning and reporting techniques and an understanding of financial analysis techniques is required.   
  • A practical and flexible approach to mine planning  
  • The candidate should possess good communication skills, both written and verbal as they will be required to interact with and relate to a wide range of people both on and off site  
  • A positive attitude to occupational health and safety policies and procedures
  • Fluency in Spanish
