Wyoming is searching for a Business Process Improvement Consultant at office in Gillette.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Business Improvement Process (BIP) for operations and maintenance processes. To be successful, the individual will need to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the BIP process and business processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position:
· Applicant must take a personal and active approach to health, safety and environment and understand and follow all state, federal and company health, safety and environmental requirements applicable to the work area and tasks assigned.
· Ensure site teams complete Risk Assessments and Change Management throughout BIP to ensure consistency and thoroughness.
· Actively share and promote safety improvement ideas/best practices across Rio Tinto organizations.
· Assist health & safety to ensure standards are consistent across the mine sites.
· Verify BIP communications are cascaded throughout the sites.
· Coach and train individual BIP Facilitators as well as project owners and assist them with their growth and development.
· Develop relationship with department managers to ensure the direction of teams is in line with the business plan.
· Ensure consistency between and among teams.
· Drive teams to generate and deliver on the necessary value delivery targets – maintain BIP measurements and communicate performance to site leaders, through a series of KPI’s set to drive the process forward.
· Recognize barriers to BIP efforts and work to remove them.
· Develop an expertise in various business improvement tools and help create the RTEA BIP platform.
· Participate in the selection process of new BIP Facilitators with alternative facilitators being identified to smooth the progress of leader movement.
· Coordinate effort to identity and evaluate cross site improvement (CSI) opportunities.
· Assist with CSI initiative planning and implementation.
· Support project sponsors in maintaining focus to deliver within targets.
· Work closely with IPT and other corporate improvement programs to ensure that BIP process integrity is maintained.
Minimum requirements:
· Bachelors degree in any field with 3 years as a leader in the application of Business Improvement Methodologies (Theory of Constraint, Lean, Six Sigma, Reliability Centered Maintenance).
· Five years experience in mining is preferred at any level within the organization.
· Excellent communication skills – verbal, presentation and written.
· Demonstrated ability to coach and train others.
· Intermediate to advanced skills on computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other specialized applications.
· Prior training in quality management is a plus.
