Job Summary:

  • As a mechanical engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing mechanical engineering/design knowledge to a variety of clients on a variety of projects.

 Responsibilities:

  • Undertake design assignments under the supervision of a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
  • Co-ordinate work on mechanical design assignments with the work of other engineering and architectural disciplines working on the same project.
  • May supervise the work of engineering technicians and technologists and drafting personnel on design assignments
  • Solve problems by applying standards and following detailed instructions.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering proposals to clients.
  • Interface with clients as required.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • You will eligible to register as an engineer with the Province of Ontario  at an intermediate level and you will have worked for the past 5 years in the mechanical engineering/design field preferably in the nuclear industry
  • Previous experience in the study and design of the general mechanical equipment including pressure piping and pumping systems, piping system design, equipment sizing and selection, preparation of technical specifications
  • Ideally you have previous consulting experience
  • You have proven and demonstrated written and oral communication skills and strength in technical report writing
  • The successful candidates will be self-motivated, hard working and results oriented and will have excellent time-management skills
  • You must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.

Education Requirement:

  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution and are a registered Engineer (P.Eng) within the Province of Ontario
  • You must be able to receive Level 11 Federal Clearance.
