Vice President Operations

An opportunity exists for the position of Vice President Operations with First Coal Corporation; a Vancouver, British Columbia company developing its properties located in the NE coal district of British Columbia, Canada.

The position will be to oversee the development of the mine plan and will include the duties of exploration, bulk sample, mine development and production and construction of surface infrastructure. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and be located in Chetwynd, British Columbia.

Candidates should have 10 years experience in the mining industry, preferable with experience in open pit coal mining and a background of supervising personnel in an operating environment.

First Coal is a company developing a number of properties in the NE British Columbia coalfields.  At present a definition exploration program/coal quality/geotechnical is underway to further quantify resources and provide data for feasibility studies to be completed in 2008.  A 100,000 tonne bulk sample test mine operation is planned to be completed during 2008 using a combination of open pit trenches and highwall mining techniques in steeply dipping seams.   This will be followed by the development of the properties producing metallurgical coking coal.

This opportunity requires a person who is innovative in his approach to mine development and is willing to be part of a team that is developing a new concept in mining steeply dipping coal seams.
