Bulk Commodities Manager

PURPOSE:
  • Manage the end to end supply chain of specified Bulk Commodities Business Categories including necessary staff and the overall supply chain processes
  • Establish single point of contact within the Company for internal and external customers and be recognized as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Company’s specified bulk commodities business segment.
  • Support all business units in all geographic locations of the Company.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Manage the overall sourcing, supplier management, asset management and logistic aspects for fuel, lubricants, natural gas, coal and electricity.
  • Lead the industry analysis to identify size of industry, leading players, and specific industry characteristics to develop target negotiations and develop a comprehensive category strategy for managing the planning and forecasting of demand for all goods and services that comprise the business segment, including operational and capital requirements.
  • Conduct customer requirement analyses to understand customers’ procurement needs and requirements and align these with corporate requirements.
  • Identify and develop strategic sourcing cost/benefit cases for strategic sourcing.
  • Perform internal and external Company spend category profiles for goods and services utilizing Company’s business intelligence capability.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional teams in selection of suppliers and negotiations with project groups.
  • Develop a project plan with timeline and resources for achieving targeted goals and objectives.
  • Initiate, manage and make award bid recommendations in cooperation and with the site managers for category spend as required by the sites.
  • Define the contract negotiation strategy approach, including timeline and customer /supplier requirements, and lead contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain a communication plan with key stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
  • Manage strategic customer and supplier relationships.
  • Develop and maintain high level metrics for executive review.
  • Lead and manage resources and activities used in the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Develop and continually improve skills and competencies of supply chain professionals engaged in acquisition of good and services for the business segment
  • Oversee spend, cash flow, and supply-related assets.
  • Provide continuous input to the development of processes, ethics, and supplier relationship management guidelines at Newmont.
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of the personnel under their management
  • Manages the Newmont standards of Best Practices, processes and tools.
  • Establish and maintain global rolling five-year log and forecast for specified commodities
