Equinox Minerals Limited is a dual listed company on the Australian and Canadian stock exchanges with assets in Africa, Australia and South America. It has, through its subsidiary company, Lumwana Mining Company (‘LMC”), commenced development of its 100% owned Lumwana Copper Project situated in the North-Western Province of Zambia some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km west from the provincial capital of Solwezi.

In addition to the mine development, LMC and its sister company Equinox Zambia Limited (“EZL”) also have a large and strategic exploration tenement portfolio of approximately 9,000 km² that covers geology highly prospective for copper, cobalt, gold and uranium mineralisation of a variety of styles within the Copperbelt, North-western and Central Provinces of Zambia.

EZL, the exploration arm of the group, is in the process of ramping up its regional exploration activities. Equinox is seeking skilled and energetic geologists to join a pro-active exploration team.

Ideally, relevant industry experience from two to three years is sought, with attention focused on the individual’s demonstrated skills base rather than particular commodities. An understanding of the geology of Zambia, exposure to a variety of styles of mineralisation and computer literacy in GIS software will be considered an advantage, but not obligatory. You will hold a relevant degree in Geology (at least Bachelor of Science) and possess good oral and written English communication skills, and hold a valid driver’s licence. Microsoft Office literacy is expected. On site training and staff development are an integral part of Equinox’s commitment to their staff.

To be considered for these positions, you must be prepared to operate from both established and temporary accommodation.

The position offers a twenty four (24) month, with mutually agreeable options to extend, single status contract. A competitive off shore salary with Zambian taxes paid and other benefits will be provided for this position along with return flights to and from a nominated point of engagement for each rotation.
