Metallurgical Sales Account Manager

Job Title:  Metallurgical Sales Account Manager

Location:  Based in the U.K.

Salary Range: $95K-$105K USD

Area of Focus:

The incumbent will market and sell the products of the Climax Molybdenum Company;  a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold, to existing and new accounts / distributors.  This is a senior position; requiring metallurgical additive or steel industry sales experience and is characterized by a sustained record of sales achievement in value selling and in the areas of marketing, product management and sales.  He or she, will develop and maintain strong customer relationships (coordinated globally when appropriate) with various levels and functions.  This role must ensure effective implementation of market and product strategies; which create value for the organization and its customers.  

Additional responsibilities:

  • Manage the metallurgical sales book.
  • Facilitate sales contract negotiations at a high level, but with defined limits of discretion.  Maintain the relationships necessary to achieve “spot” sales when appropriate.
  • Sell company products and services to major accounts in a broad /diverse geographical region.  Provide market feedback and intelligence to management.
  • Aligns sales efforts toward achieving intermediate and long-term strategic goals.
  • Maintain relationship with distributors; provide volume and pricing direction , as well as marketing/ strategic updates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or other related area.
  • Seven (7) years minimum experience in sales/marketing within the specialty metals industry.
  • Bi-lingual; written and conversational, in both English and Spanish. 
  • Able to work from a home-based office.
  • Demonstrated work history that reflects the delivery of measurable results; while working with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; primarily within a spreadsheet(Excel) environment.
  • Analytical aptitude and effective communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minor metals experience (Nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, niobium & vanadium.) or experience in the stainless steel industry..
  • Bilingual in Italian.
  • Practical knowledge of SAP.
