Maintenance Planner

Summary
Description of Duties:
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to maintenance management Answers queries and handles requests related to maintenance management, which includes problem solving and judgment Complies with established methodologies and quality standards related to maintenance management, while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches Escalates issues requiring knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions. Works with a mentor as needed Prepares reports and completes documentation related to maintenance management Assists with special projects related to maintenance management Provides analysis of work outcomes with guidance from immediate supervisor and / or a mentor May mentor or train less experienced employees on operating standards, procedures, and methods Initiates work orders from work requests and from verbal information received from other maintenance or operations employees; closes work orders once work is complete Plans work resulting from work orders by establishing priorities, estimating job duration, determining manpower requirements, and estimating necessary spares and other resources needed to complete the job Prepares detailed critical path plans, including spares and materials lists for major jobs such as a plant shut down, equipment overhaul, or component change out; ensures that equipment, materials, and manpower are available when required Monitors progress and updates schedule while shutdown or overhaul is in progress Ensures that necessary work history and documentation related to equipment history are properly filed and organized Develops and maintains standard job procedures, including APL's and estimated man hours, and ensures that standard jobs is up to date Other duties as required

Qualifications:
College or technical training equivalent to 3 years of study Partial completion of formal professional certification or designation in appropriate area of expertise More than 8 years of related work experience Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state Must have an understanding of parts purchasing procedures and scheduling maintenance for heavy equipment or mining operations Extensive knowledge in crane operation and rigging is preferred PC literacy required Visit our website www.kinross.com to view other employment opportunities.
