Our client is a world-leading mining operation boasting a 9 hole golf course, sports stadiums and complexes, clubs and comprehensive facilities, where employees and families live in a safe and comfortable, family-friendly tropical lifestyle community.

Reporting to the Manager Engineering Services, this key senior role is responsible for providing engineering and project management services at the senior engineer level for both capital and maintenance projects to all operations and maintenance departments.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Provision of mechanical engineering design, maintenance and construction services to identify/implement plant improvements, modifications and upgrades
Improving production and reliability through the provision of effective solutions to technical problems whilst eliminating or minimizing environmental safety hazards
Managing capital and operating projects including accurate budgeting, monitoring and scheduling of mechanical/maintenance engineering and construction activities, to ensure timely and cost effective execution
Prioritization of work with client departments, key personnel and maintaining effective communications/reporting to monitor progress and changes in priorities
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining mechanical/maintenance, construction engineering standards and specifications across the site
Mentoring of junior engineers in the department

Your qualifications, experience and skills should include:

Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or production engineering
10 years experience in mechanical/production engineering design and maintenance systems
Excellent communication, reporting and PC software skills
Maintenance systems and reliability-based strategy skills
Experience in project management including estimating, scheduling/planning and contract administration
Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
Self motivated and have ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
