IT position; Manager, Applications and Data Warehouse.
The Business Applications Manager is responsible for managing the implementations of J D Edwards ERP software and other third party software solutions associated with supply chain and Kinross Gold Corporate systems. He/she will maintain the system solutions, manage schedules, manage requirements & ensure on-time delivery. In addition, the Applications Manager will proactively identify new opportunities & execute development, enhancement & applications stewardship. The Manager is also responsible for the delivery of enhancements & production support, operational support, resolution to all enterprise applications, as well as providing leadership, project planning guidelines & application operations direction that ensures applications & their operations are reliable & scalable.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manages the Solutions Delivery team comprising of internal and external business analysts and subject matter experts, the Applications Manager develops team resources (JDE Solution Delivery Leads, Consultants, Developers, Application Support Specialist) and manages allocation/assignment to solution delivery projects for corporate and business units;
- Develops & execute the application stewardship action plans;
- Collaborates with individual project teams to address technology, resource, & timeline & scope challenges;
- Partners with Solutions Architecture, PMO & Technical Support to ensure the establishment & ongoing improvement of the Solutions Delivery Life Cycle;
- Working through in-house Project Managers and JDE specialists, provides day to day support & direction to the Solution Delivery team members in order to enable their respective team's delivery success;
- Delivers productivity & process improvements, within the Solutions Delivery organization, to support the overall business objectives and implements controls and enforces adherence to defined processes;
- Partners with the appropriate business process owners and Solution Delivery team members in order to ensure effective transition of new system applications to production support environment;
- Responsible for providing appropriate & timely feedback for system & applications improvements & enhancements;
- Manages project budgets and monitors results to ensure that financial objectives are achieved;
- Accountable for quality of releases of applications delivered to company’s Quality Assurance team;
- Has the ownership of establishing & monitoring KPIs for the overall Solutions Delivery organization.
- Working closely with development teams in order to:
- Ensure application development processes are effective & efficient across teams.
- Ensure all applications are maintained with effectiveness with other technology teams.
- Developing and executing in conjunction with QA department, test plans, test scenarios, & test scripts & working with the development team in the timely resolution of bugs;
- Creating & maintaining maintenance plans, schedules, & status updates for executive level updates & all enterprise applications;
- Managing team that is addressing and troubleshooting assigned production support tickets, working with development team in achieving a timely resolution, documenting ticket notes, & providing end-user with regular status updates;
- Managing vendor that is responsible for augmenting staff & providing technical expertise in some application areas;
- Managing team in coordination with business groups, that is responsible for updating all business process & application documentation;
- Understanding supported technologies, platforms & applications, & applying that knowledge to recommend the best approach to automating business solutions
- Collaborate with the senior IT Management of the PMO and Infrastructure to develop & implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, & personnel designed to accommodate rapid growth objectives;
- Engineer the alignment of JD Edwards (or other ERP enhancement) Software Development and Support people, processes, policies, and assets to an optimal balance between the service offering & goals;
- Identify & implement change initiatives that improve workflow & productivity for the Software Development & Support Teams.
- Manages & resolves assigned technology & operations-related problems & crises where they escalate to the senior level, & ensures that the analyses of problems & lessons learned are documented.
- Leads the conduct of service-specific needs analysis & recommends the acquisition, modification or upgrading of infrastructure, hardware & software to ensure compatibility, supportability, security, cost-effectiveness, & compliance with established standards.
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies through attendance at conferences, trade shows & seminars as well as information sharing with colleagues & industry representatives.
- Responsibility spans the internal development team as well as the outsourcing vendors and partners.
- Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge Required:
- University Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Essential Work Required:
- Minimum 10 yrs of exp in the ERP Software implementation and development;
- Minimum 5 years hands–on JD Edwards implementation and delivery;
- At least 3 yrs exp in project management for delivery of analytic solutions;
- End to end project life cycle delivery experience is required;
- Demonstrated leadership in planning & delivering technology projects/services in an enterprise environment;
- Travel (40%) to regional offices and sites will be required
