Scope:
This Leadership role will have a hand in shaping the culture and employee experience of working at the Horizon Oil Sands Project.

Key Areas Of Contribution:
- Be part of the management team and ensure HR is viewed as a value add business partner
- Develop policies, programs and processes which are in harmony with Corporate objectives & culture
- Coach & mentor the team members in the Client Services group (HR Generalists as well as Compensation/Policy Specialist)
- Provide coaching, consultation and direction to management and employees on all human resource issues. Resolve and respond to HR issues and questions from leaders and employees on the application and interpretation of HR processes, company policies and current legislation.
- Participate in the implementation and administration of new and existing HR programs and processes (Compensation, retention, relocation, inter-company transfers, promotions, incentives, etc.)
- Support leaders in the effective administration of the performance management process to foster a work environment which is fair, safe & inspiring for our employees
- Participate in organizational design & effectiveness with Managers and VPs to align with retention & recruitment.
- Keep informed & share your knowledge of legislation and how it impacts our business
- Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency & reputation of Client Services and HR services
- Effectively develop, maintain and manage Client Services department budget seeking opportunities to effectively manage costs while continuing to meet the client services needs of the Horizon Oil Sands Project.
Education & Experience
- Technical depth in a variety of HR disciplines including: Compensation, Performance Management, Succession Planning
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role
- University degree preferred.
- Highly developed relationship management skills for dealing with various management levels as well as employee population.
- Superior communication skills both written and verbal

This position is based at Horizon Oil Sands plant site which is approximately 70km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
