African Aura Resources (http://www.african-aura.com/) is growing its exploration team and is seeking to appoint a Vice President of Exploration; candidates with the appropriate aptitude and enthusiasm will play a major role in the development and success of the Company.

The successful candidate will:

be a highly motivated and pro-active geologist with a minimum of ten years field experience, ideally including francophone west Africa;
have experience of a variety of geological domains that may include Archaean to Birimian age, and granite-hosted gold deposits. Some knowledge of intrusion hosted base metal and iron exploration would be useful;
have a hands-on approach to exploration and managing exploration programmes on site;
have a proven ability to successfully design, manage and report on grassroots and resource stage exploration programmes, prepare and meet budgets, supervise local geotechnicians and contractors, write monthly reports to the highest standard, manage and develop field staff skills;
be highly proficient in the application of exploration GIS, word processing and spreadsheet software packages;
have excellent written, verbal, organisational and leadership skills;
be comfortable presenting exploration results in a clear and concise fashion to senior colleagues, the board of directors and shareholders; and
speak intermediate level French.

Consideration will be given to candidates with less experience, provided they can display the other required skills.

The position will be based in Cameroon on a 10 and 4 rotation and involve travel between the company’s exploration activities in central and west Africa.
