HSE Supervisor
The Resolution Project, managed by RCC, is located three miles east of Superior, Arizona. Although the Resolution Project is currently in the "pre-feasibility" stage, estimates indicate that the site could be the source of 600,000 tons of copper production per year for more than forty years. If the project proceeds as expected, the future mining operation would create more than 400 full-time employment opportunities.
The HSE Supervisor will champion the company's efforts to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, through the implementation and management of comprehensive systems. This will include indicator tracking and analysis, incident investigation, inspections, training, motivation programs, job hazard analysis, behavioral safety, and others. This role will implement, improve and sustain the systems, processes, and structures to achieve the company's vision of an injury, illness and incident-free workplace for employees and contractors.
Additional responsibilities:
· Evaluate existing programs, assess improvement needs, and establish and drive corrective actions
· Take responsibility for electrical safety, fall protection, hearing conservation, chemical management, confined space entry system, hazardous energies, contractor selection process, the return-to-work program, etc.
· Assess the need for other programs, establish action plans, get approvals from management and drive their implementation (Examples include suggestions program, leading indicators, recognition, etc.)
· Drive HSE programs consistency across all departments within the organization
· Participate in teams as needed to provide safety and health expertise and help groups achieve success with no injuries or illnesses
· Maintain current knowledge of federal and state occupational health and safety regulations
· Interact with regulatory agencies on health and safety matters as needed
· Manage internal and external company-wide auditing programs
· Drive the company to close findings in a timely and effective manner so that re-occurrence is avoided
· Improve the incident investigation system, provide expertise in root cause analysis and risk management
· Design, implement and maintain training programs as needed
· Outsource health and safety functions as needed, including auditing and other projects as necessary
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline
· CSP or CMSP certification preferred
· 3-5 years of experience leading health and safety efforts in a mining and/or construction environment
· Strong leadership skill with the ability to drive improvements through others
· Demonstrated good team member skills
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
· Able to implement analytical skills and ability to collect, organize, and interpret data
