Branch Manager

 
Our client, an organization specializing in the sales, leasing and rental of heavy equipment, in operation for over 25 years, is seeking a Branch Manager for their [Location]branch.
 
Reporting to the General Manager, the purpose of this position is to manage and direct all aspects of the branch’s operations to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and branch profitability.
 
Duties:
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the branch
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and monitor said budget
  • Monitor branch’s performance and work with General Manager to identify areas of improvement and implement action plan for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to long term development of the company’s image in the region, ensuring that it is seen in positive light by clients, employees and the public
  • Develop and build relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Ensure that staff understand and embody the company’s values, vision, business goals and objectives by communicating these effectively
  • Set performance goals and support employees in achieving said goals; ensure that succession and retention plan are put in place and maintained
  • Appraise performance on a regular basis; identify any training and development needs
  • Recruit, interview and hire staff
  • Represent the company in different economic and social organizations
  • Ensure the proper administration and timely closing of External Work orders.  This includes customer liaison for Purchase orders, quotes and final payment.
 
Requirements:
  • Management experience in a branch setting with an understanding of heavy equipment; specifically in forestry, mining and construction industry
  • Experience with managing accounts receivables of a branch, utilization of staff to maximum profitability, recruitment, staff retention and sales development
  • Experience in an ISO certified organization an asset
  • Strong organization and dispute resolution skills
