Project Controls - Senior Planner/Scheduler

Prepare preliminary Engineering, Procurement, Construction schedules for planning sessions
  • Facilitate a project execution planning session
  • Preparation and reporting Management Level Schedule (Level I) and Project Level Schedule (Level II) for project review, approval and sanction
  • Supervise the development of a Control Level Schedule (Level III)
  • Establish resource leveling for resource optimization.
  • Provide general supervision and administrative direction to scheduling personnel working on large projects
  • Monitor and support the execution of the project work by receiving, planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating work orders and change management processes
  • Ensure timely and coordinated availability of facilities and equipment delivered to site during the construction phase of the project
  • Maintain and report the backlog of work orders awaiting scheduling in accordance with the order of priority
 
Basic Job Requirements
  • Graduate with at least 15 years experience in an engineering environment
  • Experience working for an EPCM organization in the mining, mineral processing or related heavy industries is preferred
  • The position will be on an oilsands project, so mining, oil and gas or construction experience is preferred
  • Primavera (P3 and P5) experience is required
  • Good communication skills and command of the English language
  • 15 years experience in a planning, scheduling, cost controls environment
  • Engineering degree/background and/or PMP designation is preferred
  • Project management and/or supervisory experience is advantageous
