Human Resources Manager

Our client, one of the fastest growing mining companies in Northern Ontario, is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to work in their Sudbury operations. Duties:
  • Responsible for ensuring proper administration and application of Collective Agreement, which includes grievance resolution, conflict resolution and collective bargaining.
  • Assist and support managers in regards to staffing and ensuring that they are compliant with legislation, company policies and processes and that these are consistent.
  • Manage all areas of recruitment by working with hiring managers for job descriptions, sourcing candidates, coordinating/participating in interview process and preparing offer letters with proper salary recommendations; attend job fairs with the goal of creating a constant candidate pool.
  • Assist managers in addressing performance issues and providing effecting coaching and counseling to managers.
  • Assess annual training needs, identify appropriate resources/training and coordinate such career development
  • Conduct annual salary reviews and assist with paperwork for promotions, transfers and reclassifications throughout the year.
  • Manage disability and WSIB claims ensuring that all legislation requirements are met and facilitate early and safe return to work. 
Requirements:
  • Post secondary education in Industrial Relations or a related field
  • Over five years of experience in a management role within a unionized environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Must be self-sufficient, be confident in their abilities and possess strong negotiation skills
