Description:
·         A leading mining giant requires a senior Head of Risk Management and Business Assurance.
·         You will deliver an efficient and effective internal audit and risk management programme to all businesses within this multimillion group and contribute towards the continued development of the department.

Minimum Requirements:
·         Professionally qualified in a relevant discipline with a solid grasp of internal audit techniques and practise.
·         Must have a CA. Solid grasp of best practise in risk management.
·         Knowledge of the mining industry would be highly beneficial and their business strategies.
·         Ability to influence senior managers.
·         Your personality here is of extreme importance in that you will challenge anything and everything at senior executive’s level.
·         Experience in managing a professional team and excellent leadership qualities.

Job Specification
·         Develop an internal audit plan based on assessment of key risks and an assurance framework for the business including joint ventures.
·         Manage the internal audit team at the Head Office and outskirts to ensure delivery of the approved audit plan.
·         Implement an effective Integrated Risk Management programme.
·         Manage the delivery of all documentation into the audit committee process.
·         Ensure an effective working relationship is established with the Chairman and members of the audit committee and also ensure appropriate appraisal of the team (27) and talent management processes are implemented and developed.
·         Contribute to the development of the unit through active participation in meetings and discussions.
·         Provide a GM function to all staff located at Head office in conjunction with senior colleagues.
·         You will understand the business strategy and operations, deliver agreed plans that meet the business needs, provide team leadership and growth and retain talent.
