Description:
·         The mining projects are located worldwide and extensive travel, domestically and internally, is required for intermittent periods.

·         You will be working predominantly on projects concerned with rock mechanics, including support and mine design.
 
·         You will also provide technical and project management expertise in the following areas:
·         research
·         Instrumentation
·         stress measurement
·         monitoring
·         numerical modelling
·         risk management
·         underground safety audits
·         design methods
·         Training and technology transfer.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Developing new business and building upon client and prospective client relationships within mining projects,
·         Providing technical and management expertise on mining projects concerned with coal and hard rock engineering, such as strata control and mine design. Extensive underground experience is therefore essential for this position,
·         Working with and managing highly experienced rock engineers,
·         Managing consultancy projects within coal and hard rock mining; and
·         Developing techniques and methods for solving rock engineering problems within the mines, often conducting site visits to resolve these issues.
 
Successful candidates will:
·         Be qualified to MSc or PhD level (rock mechanics, mining, engineering, engineering geology or geotechnical engineering),
·         Be a professional Engineer, holding Chartered status.
·         Have extensive underground mining experience, (including coal),
Have demonstrable experience in project management and consultancy at a senior level including managing client relationships, projects, and project teams (including teams of rock engineers)
