Inventory Analyst

[Company] supplies equipment parts and service to the construction, forestry and mining industries and utility product users. It was created to provide customers with integrated solutions and to expand our service capabilities as a nationwide organization.
 
The Role:
Reporting to the Parts Manager, this position is responsible for day to day inventory control procedures, oversees total branch inventories, and makes recommendations as required. This position is Monday to Friday and will be responsible for the following:
Monitors key performance indicators for the parts area to ensure that trends are managed related to total parts inventory value, parts margins, inventory turns, non turning inventory, obsolescence, etc.
  • Accountable for branch inventory control.  Ensures that inventory levels, freight costs and corporately defined/ controlled cost and sell factors and manufacturers' price updates are reviewed and maintained.
  • Collaborates with the Parts Manager to develop reasonable annual objectives for the inventory control function to include proper and acceptable inventory levels, acceptable turnover rates, and acceptable fill rates and to develop policy and procedures for the Parts and Inventory function of the branch.
  • Keeps abreast of market advancements as it relates to the effective operations of an inventory system.
  • Analyzes and recommends medium to long term plans for inventories to support Customer fleets and on parts inventory control systems.
  • Participates in the annual inventory count and reconciliation and also in addressing internal and customer concerns.
  • Maintenance of the parts master files, parts pricing, exchange rate changes, manufacturer price adjustments, customer pricing programs, inventory counts and reconciliation, parts returns, perform and analyze weekly stock orders.
  • Other duties as assigned to maintain branch targets as they relate to parts margins and inventory turns.
Qualifications:
  • 5 - 7 years related parts and inventory experience is required
  • Related post secondary education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
