Service Writer / Warranty Administrator

[Company] supplies equipment parts and service to the construction, forestry and mining industries and utility product users. It was created to provide customers with integrated solutions and to expand our service capabilities as a nationwide organization.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Winnipeg Branch has an opportunity for a Service Writer.

The Role:

Answer service related telephone enquiries and direct to the appropriate party.
Maintain work order log book (open, close, file).
Open/close work orders and ensure all items are charged and back orders identified. Ensure work order segment text is meaningful and appropriate.
Input of warranty related information, i.e. - inspections, campaigns, warranty repair work, etc.
Ensure interrupted warranty is properly processed as per manufacturer's guidelines.
Maintain machine history files, keeping all files up to date.
Ensure the timely and accurate maintenance of claims systems.
Under the guidance of the Service Manager, review and process customer and warranty work orders, ensuring all parts are charged out correctly to matching work order segments.
Verification of equipment warranties to supply warranty status to customer in order to determine if charges will be invoiced to them.
Ensure customer and supplier credits are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare parts that have to be sent for Failure Report and Cost of Repairs.
Service department related administration.

Qualifications:

Three years proven experience in a service environment.
Working knowledge of warranty policies and procedures.
Excellent word processing and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills necessary.
