Business Analyst - Mining Engineer - Surpac

General Description

The Business Analyst will provide support to customers in the implementation and application of "the company" products by developing expertise and analyzing business processes and systems to achieve efficiencies and productivity in the value chain and capitalization on opportunities for improvement.

Areas of Accountability

1. Customer and Technical Support

Demonstrate a sound product knowledge and understanding of scope of products and the application to clients business.
Gauge and identify the training and education needs of customers based on the understanding, use and optimization of products.
Continually develop personal knowledge and familiarity with products to enhance expertise and application to industry.
Demonstrate an understanding of other "the company" products applicable to clients.

2. Solutions Consulting

Identify business improvement opportunities within client businesses.
Gather client and business systems data through analysis and interview techniques.
Analyze client data and compile concise business reports, visual representations and documentation.
Identify opportunities to add value to clients business with the suite of "the company" products & services.
Communicate with clients to identify and record business, operational and improvement needs and requirements.
Assist in gathering of business intelligence and capture of customer details, including historical information on technical support issues and level of product optimization
Undertake analysis and formatting of client data and business performance$0 information
Continually develop personal knowledge and familiarity with products and understanding of mining processes and the value chain

3. Project Management and Implementation

Assist in the development of project proposals & the design of solutions to address specific customer requirements
Assist and participate in project implementation
Contribute to the body of knowledge and project learning by identifying, monitoring and recording specific learning & development aspects of the project implementation.
Contribute to the continual improvement in the project cycle and process.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

Required:

Business or Mining systems analysis experience including information gathering analysis and documentation
Experience presenting information to clients & management using various visual tools, data analysis and report generation
Knowledge of the application and analysis of Information Technology systems and processes
Demonstrated commitment to delivering planned objectives including resolving$0 complex problems
Experience communicating to a varied audience and various levels within an$0 organization
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to accurately record and assimilate information from a range of sources
Understanding of IT systems, databases, configurations and troubleshooting.
Investigation and problem solving skills of non-routine problems
Time management, planning and prioritizing skills
Report writing and skills utilizing visual representation

Desirable:

Degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology or Surveying
Surpac/MineSched, or similar mining software/information applications a must have.
Up to 5 years working experience
