Role Purpose and Deliverables:
·         A large open cast coal mine in Middelburg Mpumalanga requires the services
·         of a hardworking, conscientious individual to manage the safe execution of all Opencast Mining
·         Operations within one of its mining areas.
·         The successful candidate will be responsible for
·         Achieving applicable safety, production and cost targets.
 
This will be accomplished through:
·         Leading a mining team, guided by the Company’s Key Values and the principle of Zero Harm.
 
Ideally, you will have a combination of the following exposure, competencies, and qualifications
Required for success:
·         Degree or Technikon Diploma in Mining Engineering
·         Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
·         MBA/MBL will be an added advantage
·         Preferably 5 years experience in managing an opencast mining environment
·         Computer literate in MS Office and SAP will be an added advantage
·         Understanding and working experience of Fatal Risk Control Protocols will be an added advantage
·         Provincial (Code 08/ EB) license
·         Must be able to obtain a certificate of medical fitness
