Business Development Manager

Description:
·         My client is a world-leading specialist in the development and application of 3D measurement technologies.
·         Currently focussed on delivering solutions for both the mining and 3D modelling / mapping communities a requirement has arisen for a Business Development Manager to capitalise on existing opportunities and drive future growth.
·         Reporting directly to the Managing Director the successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales combined with a strong technical / engineering background, preferably in mining or 3D Modelling.
 
Requirements:
·         Excellent communication skills are essential a confidence in negotiations with clients, from end user through to board level management, while a focus on the development of long-term relationships will drive your success.
 
Key responsibilities:
·         Develop preferred supplier relationships with relevant multi-national corporations and emerging opportunities
·         Communicate strongly and maintain close, pro-active involvement with customers
·         Coordinate the preparation of proposals, bids and tenders to develop demand and meet the requirement for competitive bids
·         Develop, prioritise and maintain an up-to-date a database of opportunities, using salesforce.com
·         Work in close relationship with the R & D department, scoping projects for modifying existing products/services or developing new products/services to improve market acceptability and sales
·         Participate in annual market and budget planning, as well as coordinating trade shows
 
Mandatory requirements:
·         Tertiary qualification in engineering, geosciences or applied science
·         Experience in mining geotechnical engineering or mine planning software
·         Demonstration of skills in marketing, sales and negotiation
·         Team oriented, but with the ability to work independently in remote areas
·         Well developed written and oral communication skills
·         Flexibility to travel - at least 80% of time traveling within the UK and internationally
·         Ability to keep up to date with email and communications while traveling
Must have the right to live and work in the UK
