Reclamation Coordinator
Job Description: BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Closure Planning and Reclamation, the incumbent is responsible for the cost-effective development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual reclamation plan in partial fulfillment of the Mine Closure Plan.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and budget the annual reclamation plan, in conjunction with short and long range planning in a manner consistent with the mine closure plan
- Implement the reclamation plan in a cost effective manner
- Develop the implement vegetation assessments/regeneration surveys and habitat assessments as required by regulatory conditions and reclamation program objectives
- Develop and implement wildlife/bird protection and enhancement programs as required by regulatory condition and reclamation program objectives
- Maintain a database of the status and progress of the reclamation and reclamation related programs
- Assess and monitor erosion of the [Company] lease, and recommend remedial action
- Ensure effective communication of the reclamation plan implementation is maintained to Mine Operations, Regulators and Mine Engineering as required
- Represent [Company] for on-site reclamation inspections by government regulators and ensure follow-up activities to those inspections are complete
- Participate in Stakeholder relations committees in areas of expertise
- Assist in the development and review of department goals and specific objectives
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment in adherence to all legislated and internal standards by ensuring subordinates are fully familiar with the company program and understand their accountabilities, and by ensuring program elements are in place and executed.
- Create a productive human resources environment by ensuring job accountabilities and authority are defined and clearly understood. The performance plan and review system is to be utilized effectively with open two-way dialogue.
Qualification Requirements:
- Engineering or relevant degree is required. Technical diplomas will also be considered
- Minimum 5 years Mine Reclamation experience
- Broad range experience in the mining industry including a multidisciplinary background in reclamation, geotechnical, civil, and process engineering would be considered an asset
- Superior change management skills including the ability to influence individuals in various business units to accept proposed changes
- Experience with Mine planning software and/or project management experience is considered a strong asset but not essential

- Motivated, self starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
- An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
- Effective leadership skills; demonstrated ability to make important decisions
