Description:
·         Suitably qualified and experienced persons are invited to apply for the position of Shaft Surveyor.
·         The positions is based in the [Location] , reporting will be to the Resource Leader-Survey.
 
Requirements
·         Grade12 Maths and Science at NQF level 4.
·         Mine Survey Certificate of Competence.
·         Five years experience or two years practical post qualification experience in an underground environment in within the survey field.
·         Thorough knowledge and understanding of the following software systems:
·         GMSI Pegs
·         MRM suite
·         MS Office package
·         Business Objects
·         CADS mine or Mine 24D experience would be an advantage
·         Valid drivers licence code 08
·         Medically Fit for the Position.
 
Work Description:
·         The Shaft Surveyor’s role is to provide the Shaft with a specialist underground and surface survey related expertise and services with a legal accountability of 2.12.7 appointment.
·         The incumbent is also responsible for the effective maintenance of the existing ore/ metal accounting system and to ensure an effective statistical database
·         Provision of effective and quality survey and sampling services and support to the mining operations.
·         The incumbent also bares the responsibility of timeous and accurate capturing and recording of technical data and monthly production results pertaining to underground excavations and resource management that would assist in directing the mine design.
 
Technical Work Responsibilities:
·         SHE Compliance.
·         Accuracy of technical data.
·         Survey and Holing notes.
·         Daily plottings of face positions and pegs/ sampling sections.
·         Monthly measurement plottings.
·         Sampling reports.
·         Correct and accurate installing of survey pegs.
·         Correct and accurate sampling (geological) measurements.
·         Stope / developments plans.
·         Timeous and accurate reports to the mining department.
·         Grade Control.
